Apple Chutney


  • 4kg green cooking apples, cored
  • 1 1/2kg onions, peeled
  • 500g seeded raisins
  • 60g garlic (about 5 large cloves) peeled
  • 3 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 2kg sugar
  • 1 bottle Wild’s Ezy-Sauce



Chop apples, onions, raisins and garlic. Alternatively, chop in batches using a food processor. Add to a large saucepan, with salt, ginger, sugar and Wild’s Ezy-Sauce. Mix well and simmer for 2 hours or until mixture is a thick, jam-like consistency. Using a small jug or ladle, fill into sterilised jars and cover loosely. Allow to cool before sealing.
