Spiced Green Beans


  • 5 cups cold water
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1kg small green French beans, trimmed
  • 8 strips lemon rind
  • 1 bottle Wild’s Ezy-Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 cups hot water


Add salt to a saucepan of water before bringing to a boil and adding beans. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, before draining and putting beans aside. Add lemon rind, Wild’s Ezy-Sauce, sugar and water to the saucepan. Bring to the boil, cook for 5 minutes. Add the beans reduce heat and simmer for a further 5 minutes. Remove lemon rind from the liquid and pack beans into hot sterilised jars, pour over remaining liquid then seal jar.

Makes approximately 1 litre.
